Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel announces retirement
Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel will hang up his gloves and retire from professional football at the end of the season.
Spurs confirmed on their Twitter account today:
"The Club can announce that goalkeeping legend @friedel_b will retire from the game at the end of the season."
Friedel, 43, moved from America to Liverpool in 1997 and has enjoyed spells with Blackburn and Aston Villa, representing the USA 82 times.
