Unsettled start to the Bank Holiday weekend

It will be an unsettled start to the Bank Holiday weekend with rain moving in from the southwest.

It will be heavy at times and there is a yellow weather warning in force for the rainfall across Northern Ireland, were we could see 20 to 40 mm of rainfall accumulating, with up to 100 mm possible over the Mourne and Sperrin mountains.

Coupled with this, gale force winds will affect western coasts of Northern Ireland too

Elsewhere, way from the north of Scotland where there are some bright spells, it will be a grey, overcast day and this coupled with a strong breeze will give a cool feel outside.

The far southeast will hold onto a milder airflow, with highs of 15C (59 F).
