Disney's stock value got a surprise boost of $2 billion following the release of the second Star Wars trailer yesterday.

Shares bumped up 1% to $108.30 from $107 after the trailer was posted online. They are currently resting at $108.10, thanks to the excitement generated by the clip.

This jump in share price is an indication of excitement among investors ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the latest installment in the series.

Disney bought the rights to the franchise as part of its $4 billion purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd in 2012.
