Ed Miliband has refused to put an "arbitrary date" on when the party will balance the country's books.
Responding to a question from ITV News Political Correspondent Carl Dinnen, Miliband says he was "tying himself" to a pledge to erase the deficit by the end of the next parliament, but would not name a specific date.
He also said the Conservatives' "irresponsible" spending plans made "the Green Party look fiscally credible".
