Lufthansa 'under no obligation' to report co-pilot's condition

Lufthansa has indicated that it was under no obligation to report the fact that Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz has suffered from depression to Germany's national aviation authority.

Analysis of a second black box confirmed Lubitz deliberately crashed Flight 4U 9525 into the French Alps, investigators said.

The data indicated that the pilot modified automatic settings to increase the speed of the plane as it descended, France BEA said.

Germanwings has renamed Flight 4U 9525 following the French Alps air disaster which left 150 people dead.

Earlier today, passengers boarded the newly-named Flight 4U 9441 from Barcelona to Dusseldorf for the first time since the plane crash.
