Two former and current journalists working for the Sun newspaper have been cleared of corrupting public officials, a jury at Kingston Crown Court has ruled.

Picture editor John Edwards and former reporter John Troup were acquitted after the jury deliberated for seven days.

Ex-deputy news editor Ben O'Driscoll and former Sun managing editor Graham Dudman were also cleared of one count each but face outstanding charges.

The defendants sighed as the foreman read the verdicts and their supporters in the public gallery wiped away tears while others hugged.
