US releases four Guantanamo prisoners back to Afghanistan

Four prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay for more than a decade have been sent home by the US to Afghanistan.

The men were flown by the US military to Kabul overnight and released to Afghan authorities, the Pentagon said.

The prisoner transfer is the first of its kind to the country since 2009.
