World of cricket pays tribute to Phillip Hughes

Tributes have been paid to cricketer Phillip Hughes who has died, aged 25.

The Australian died two days after being struck on the head by a bouncer while batting for South Australia against New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australian cricket marks Phil Hughes' 26th birthday

Australian cricketers have marked what would have been Phil Hughes' birthday with a series of tributes.

National captain Michael Clarke tweeted his birthday message, along with teammates David Warner and Steve Smith.

Cricket teams around the country also paid tribute by displaying the number 408, which was Hughes' test number

In an amazing coincidence, 26 is also the number of first-class centuries he recorded and the number of Tests he played for Australia.

He also made his test debut on February 26th.
