David Cameron chairs Cobra meeting on IS threat

David Cameron was briefed today about the ongoing hunt for Islamic State (IS) militants responsible for the murders of Western hostages.

The Prime Minister chaired a session of the Government's Cobra committee where he was updated by intelligence chiefs about their progress in trying to track down militants responsible for killing westerners including US hostage Peter Kassig.

Tributes to US aid worker killed in brutal terror video

The Prime Minister has called an emergency Cobra meeting following the latest and most distressing video released by Islamist terror fighters the Islamic State.

US aid worker Peter Kassig was among several people killed in the video which showed the beheading of 18 Syrian prisoners by men who appeared without hiding their identities.

At least some of the men in the group have been linked to the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
