Brazilian cannibalism trio jailed after making pies out of human flesh
A Brazilian man and his two lovers have been jailed after being found guilty of killing women and using their flesh to make pies.
Jorge Beltrao Negromonte da Silveira, his wife Isabel Cristina Pires, and his mistress, Bruna Cristina Oliveira da Silva, were arrested in April 2012 after reportedly making and eating empada pastries containing the flesh of two women they had lured to their house and killed.
The trio reportedly confessed to police after the remains of their victims, who had gone to the house in the hope of securing work as nannies, were discovered in their backyard.
Late last night a jury in the Brazilian city of Olinda sentenced Jorge Beltrao Negromonte da Silveira to 23 years in prison and ordered Isabel Cristina Pires, and Bruna Cristina Oliveira da Silva, to serve 20 years jail time each.
