Northern Irish man charged over 'activity in Syria'
A 25-year-old man from Londonderry in Northern Ireland has been charged with explosives and firearms offences relating to alleged activity in Syria.
Eamon Bradley was arrested on Thursday a few days after he is thought to have returned home from the war-torn country. He is due in court this morning.
Earlier this year his family expressed fears he may have gone there to fight.
Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes of the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "The charges are in connection with an arrest in the Derry area on Thursday November 6 relating to alleged activity in Syria earlier this year.
"These charges show our ongoing commitment in investigating serious crime and keeping people safe."
