Rio Ferdinand to attend education course after 'sket' tweet

Footballer Rio Ferdinand must attend an education programme after being fined £25,000 and banned for three games over posting an offensive tweet.

The QPR defender was found guilty of tweeting a remark, which was deemed "abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting and/or improper", to a member of the public in September.

The tweet used the word 'sket', which is defined as a "promiscuous girl or woman".

He was responding to a tweet suggesting QPR should sign a new defender because their current crop are not up to scratch.

Ferdinand was fined £45,000 in 2012 for tweets relating to footballer Ashley Cole.
