Goalkeeper Dave Beasant back on the bench at 55

League Two side Stevenage have named 55-year-old former England goalkeeper Dave Beasant among their match day substitutes, more than a decade after his last appearance in professional football.

The former Wimbledon and Chelsea stopper joined the club as a goalkeeping coach in the summer to work with a squad that includes his 25-year-old son Sam.

But the unavailability of another goalkeeper has seen him don his gloves once more as an unlikely stand-by for the team's away trip to Carlisle United.
