Manchester United deny Ander Herrera has been summoned over match-fixing allegations
Man United have denied midfielder Ander Herrera is one of 20 players summoned by the Spanish authorities to answer questions about potential match-fixing.
Herrera played in Zaragoza's 2-1 La Liga victory against Villarreal in May 2011, a match which ensured they avoided relegation, but is now being investigated over allegations of game rigging and illegal betting patterns.
Reports last week suggested Herrera, who was playing his last game for Zaragoza before joining Athletic Bilbao in July 2011, would be quizzed along with 19 other players on Thursday 2nd October.
But United have confirmed that Herrera has not been implicated, and will remain in Manchester where he is trying to recover from a back injury in time for Sunday's Premier League clash against Everton.
