Rileys Sports Bars, the 59-strong chain of pool and snooker halls that dates back to 1878, has gone into administration.

Deloitte has been appointed as administrator and has closed 15 venues immediately, at the cost of 104 jobs, along with another 20 at the Milton Keynes head office.

The remaining sites will continue to trade while the administrators explore options for the business.

The collapse of Rileys is the second corporate failure today after Phones 4u closed its doors at the cost of almost 6,000 jobs.
