Sir Cliff Richard: I fully intend to clear my name

Sir Cliff Richard has reiterated his innocence following the recent raid of his home over an allegation of historical sexual assault.

In a statement published on Facebook today, the pop star thanked fans and the press for the support and said he was "doing OK" following the claims.

He added: "It goes without saying that I fully intend to clear my name".

Just to be absolutely clear, the allegation is completely false and I will continue to cooperate with the police should they wish to speak to me again.

Sir Cliff has been questioned by police but has not been charged or arrested.
