US teen's hopes to return after 'beaten by Israeli police'

A Palestinian-American teen left with stitches and bruises from his detention by Israeli security forces said in an interview that he hopes to return one day without incident to the Middle East, where he was beaten while visiting relatives.

Tariq Abu Khdeir, the cousin of a murdered Palestinian boy, said he hopes he could "come back safe".

Cousin of murdered Palestinian 'beaten by Israeli forces'

The American cousin of a 16-year-old boy who was murdered in a suspected revenge attack in Jerusalem has been allegedly abducted and beaten by Israeli police, according to reports.

Video footage emerged of two men dressed in the uniform of Israeli security forces hitting and kicking Tariq Khdeir, 15.

The alleged beating of Khdeir was captured on two videos, both of which were posted independently on Thursday.

The 15-year-old's cousin Mohammed Abu Khdeir was killed in a suspected revenge attack following the abduction and deaths of three young Israelis.

Initial autopsy findings suggested Khdeir was "burned alive".
