May to order independent sex abuse claims investigation

Home Secretary Theresa May is expected to announce a broad independent inquiry into how public institutions handled allegations of child abuse. Mrs May will give details of the probe as she makes a statement to MPs this afternoon.

MP 'professionally' burgled after submitting dossier

The son of the late MP Geoffrey Dickens, who approached the Government in the 1980s with claims that a paedophile network was operating within Westminster, has told ITV News that their family home was burgled on two occasions shortly after his father submitted the potentially explosive dossier.

On both occasions, nothing was taken, Barry Dickens explained.

He said that it was "strange" that someone would go to such effort to twice enter the property without actually stealing anything.
