Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has described the allegations surrounding the Qatar World Cup as "shocking" and if proven must provoke a re-run of the bid process.

PM: We are happy to provide a home for World Cup

David Cameron has said England would be "happy to provide a home" for the World Cup, in the event that Qatar is stripped of the right to host the 2022 tournament.

Speaking at a G7 press conference, he also joked with American President Barack Obama about the number of sports invented in the UK.
