Family pay tribute to 'fun-loving and caring' marathon runner

The family of a London Marathon runner who died after completing the course have paid tribute to a "a fun-loving and caring person". Robert Berry, 42, collapsed immediately after finishing the 26.2 miles race.

Man, 42, dies after completing London Marathon

A 42-year-old man has died after completing the London Marathon, organisers have confirmed.

A statement from the Virgin Money London Marathon reads: "It is with regret that we have learnt of the death of a competitor in the Virgin Money London Marathon.

"A 42-year-old man collapsed after the finish line and although immediate medical attention was provided to the casualty, the fatality was confirmed on his arrival at hospital...

"The organisers of the Virgin Money London Marathon would like to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."
