Ukraine will seek closer integration with Europe once again, the acting president has said, after Viktor Yanukovych was ousted by MPs on Saturday following days of violence.
Yanukovych's decision to turn his back on a deal with the European Union in favour of closer ties with Russia sparked the protests that eventually led to his departure.
Oleksandr Turchynov said a priority of the regime would be to "return to the path of European integration" in a televised address to the nation after his appointment by MPs.
Mr Turchynov also said Ukraine's new leadership was ready for dialogue with Russia to put their relations on a "new, equal and good-neighbourly footing" which recognises the country's "European choice."
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
Fears over an impending second wave of coronavirus dominates Wednesday’s front pages.
