More than 2,000 servicemen and women are undertaking flood relief tasks across the UK, with thousands more on standby, the Ministry of Defence has announced.
A statement from the Ministry of Defence said: “Military personnel from the Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force continue to provide flood relief in affected parts of the UK including the South West and the Thames Valley.
"More than 2,000 servicemen and women have been committed to tasks with thousands more at a state of high readiness to assist if requested."
