PM announces measures to help flood-hit Britons

David Cameron has said "money is no object" in the relief effort to help those affected by the floods and announced the following measures:

  • Businesses and homeowners hit by floods will be eligible for grants of up to £5,000 to better protect their properties as they repair the damage caused
  • The Government will defer tax payments for flood-hit businesses
  • A £10 million fund will be set up to help farmers affected by the flood
