Tonnes of manure dumped outside French parliament
Tonnes of horse manure was dumped outside the national parliament building in Paris in a pungent protest against President Francois Hollande and French politics.
A message on the truck that delivered the dung read: "Out with Hollande and the entire political class. Long live the Sixth Republic."
France's present day Fifth Republic was founded by Charles de Gaulle, its first president, in 1958.
The unnamed protester was arrested by police before he managed to empty all of the manure in his truck at the steps of the Bourbon Palace, the building that houses the lower house of parliament.
A mass clean-up operation has begun.
