French President Francois Hollande has announced his split with his partner Valerie Trierweiler to the news agency AFP. It follows claims he had an affair with actress Julie Gayet.
Actress 'to sue Closer' over Hollande affair claims
Actress Julie Gayet is set to launch legal proceedings against French magazine Closer after it alleged she has been having an affair with President Francois Hollande, broadcaster RTL reported.
Ms Gayet, 41, will reportedly sues for breach of privacy after Closer published seven pages of photographs taken outside a Paris apartment building which it claimed supported its story.
Yesterday Mr Hollande told journalists his "indignation was total" regarding the report, but that he would not be taking legal action.
