Aberystwyth's sea front in 'complete mess' after storms

Further storms, high tides and gale-force winds are expected across many parts of the UK over the weekend.

In Aberystwyth, the town's promenade has been left in a "complete mess" after debris was strewn across it after bad weather.

Aberystwyth University student Millie Farmer said: "They're starting to clear up. It's a complete mess".

"The promenade slabs have been scattered everywhere.....It's a real shame. The front was damaged by storms a few weeks ago. They'd only just repaired it. Now it's been ruined again."
