Weather warnings as gales and snow expected

Pockets of the UK are expected to be plunged into the worst of the winter weather, with gale-force winds and snowfall expected this week.

The Met Office has issued several weather warnings, having told people in parts of Scotland and northern England they could face a short, sharp, stormy spell of weather over the next 48 hours with the worst of it is expected to clear by the weekend.
