Freedom charity supports forced marriage victims
Freedom Charity - the organisation which helped police free three women held in 'slavery' - was set up to help young victims of forced marriage and the violence associated with it.
It was founded by magistrate and karate teacher Aneeta Prem, who first became aware of the issue of forced marriages when she taught martial arts to young women in London.
The charity runs a 24 hour helpline on 0845 607 0133.
It can also be contacted by texting ‘4freedom’ to 88802.
The lines are manned by trained professionals to help victims of forced marriage and their friends who are seeking help, support and advice.
