24ft waves destroy airport leaving dead bodies in their wake
I have spoken to the Philippine air force. The Tacloban City airport in Leyte province has been completely destroyed by the storm surge.
Waves were up to 24 feet, higher than the terminal building.
A pilot said he saw six dead bodies inside a chapel of people that had drowned in storm. An air force colonel said Tacloban was the worst affected area. Crew on board a transport plane said that they could see lots of dead bodies.
