Poll: 60% believe Ed Miliband is not an election winner

More than six out of 10 Britons say Ed Miliband does not come across as an election winner and almost half (49%) believe the Labour party would be better off without him as its leader, a new poll reveals.

Respondents said that Mr Miliband's manner on TV and radio is the main factor influencing their negative view of him.

His interventions on military action in Syria and News International are seen as having had the greatest positive impact on his image.

The poll of more than 2,000 people over the age of 18 was carried out by ComRes on behalf of ITV News.
