Siberian tiger kills zookeeper with bite to the neck

A Siberian tiger killed a zookeeper in Germany with a bite to the neck when he was cleaning out his enclosure.

It is thought the 56-year-old was attacked on Thursday after he forgot to close the gate to Rasputin's cage at the Allwetterzoo in Munster.

Joerg Adler, zoo director, said: "Now I am sitting here...I hope that...my only condolence is that Martin...he will live on in our thoughts.

"He loved his animals. It is tragic."
