Russia begins evacuating people from Syria

A Russia cargo plane carrying humanitarian aid has landed in Syria and will also be used to evacuate about 100 Russians as well as 80 citizens of former Soviet countries.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said they had "made clear a desire to leave the country", Russia Today reports.
