Assad is a 'butcher and should be tried for war crimes'

President Assad is a "butcher" and should be tried for war crimes, a Conservative MP said.

However former Foreign Office lawyer Dominic Raab warned against military intervention.

He told ITV's Daybreak: "I don't think moral outrage is enough on its own for us to get involved and dipping our toe into this conflict carries all sorts of risks, the risks that we can't actually do much to affect the outcome."
