Olympic boost to volunteering still being felt
A leading charity has seen a huge increase in interest in volunteering since the Olympic Games in London.
Royal Voluntary Service said the number of inquiries it received doubled in the weeks after the 2012 Games and was now running at over 1,000 a month, compared with 700 before the Olympics.
David McCullough, Royal Voluntary Service chief executive, said: "We want to urge the nation to keep the Olympic spirit alive by dedicating some of their free time to volunteering and to join the Royal Voluntary Service."
