Cow hoisted to safety after falling 100 feet

A cow that fell over 100 feet down an embankment and into a river has been rescued by fire and rescue workers in Cumbria.

Firefighters were called after a local farmer found the 12-month-old cow in the river near Sedberg, Cumbria.

The stranded cow was hoisted to safety using a crane provided by a local builder.

The animal is expected to make a full recovery after escaping serious injury.
