Scores injured after pro-Morsi rally in Cairo turns violent

Scores of people have been injured in clashes with security forces at a large rally in support of the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

Thousands of supporters gathered outside Cairo University this evening to show their support for the embattled president, but witnesses say the atmosphere turned violent.

There were also witness reports of gunfire and tear gas.
