Google celebrates the work of Maurice Sendak
Google has commemorated the life of children's author and book illustrator Maurice Sendak, who would have celebrated his 85th birthday today.
Google's latest doodle is an animation of the illustrations that are featured in some of his cult books including Where the Wild Things Are, which has sold over 17 million copies worldwide.
Where the Wild Things Are earned Sendak a prestigious Caldecott Medal for the best children's book of 1964 and it became a hit movie in 2009.
The Polish writer died last year at the age of 83.
