Clashes have broken out in the Turkish capital of Ankara, with police throwing tear gas canisters at several thousand people protesting against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government.
Some protesters formed a barricade and hurled fire bombs or threw the canisters back at police.
In Istanbul, thousands returned to resume their anti-government protest in the central Taksim Square.
Anti-government protesters and police have been fighting a running battle for control of Istanbul's Taksim Square on an 11th day of clashes.
"We'll never forget what we have seen in the past few days. People bleeding on the street from rubber bullets and nurses beaten by police."
