Mother and daughter 'had to help' murdered soldier
Two women who were pictured tending to Lee Rigby after the attack in Woolwich have spoken to the Mirror saying that facing the attackers and trying to help him, "had to be done."
Gemini Donnelly-Martin, 20, told the paper she and her mother Amanda, 44, approached the two men and asked if they could comfort the dead soldier.
Gemini said: “We did what anyone would do. We just wanted to take care of the man. It wasn’t brave. Anyone would have done it. It had to be done."
Brother Simeon, 21, spoke on behalf of their mother, saying: “I told her I didn’t think my mum should have done what she did. She put herself in danger for a total stranger. He could have gone for her.
“But she told me she only did it because she thought it could have been her own son.”
