Police have surrounded a pharmacy in Edinburgh in an armed stand-off with a man and woman.
A large section of the city's Royal Mile has been sealed off by emergency services dealing with the "significant" incident.
Officers said the man and woman causing the disturbance were believed to have a bladed weapon.
Reports that staff had been taken hostage at the Royal Mile Pharmacy were unconfirmed.
