Case filed against owners of collapsed building in Dhaka

Dhaka city development authority has filed a case against the owners of a building that collapsed yesterday for faulty construction.

It filed another case against the owner and the five garments factories housed in the building for causing unlawful death, police chief Habibur Rahman said.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association president Mohammad Atiqul Islam said there were 3,122 workers in the factories when the collapse occurred, despite the fact that local officials indicated cracks had been found in the building the day before.
