Pandas shown pornography to get them to mate

Vets in China have show several Giant Pandas some pornography in an attempt to get them to mate.

Researchers at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Sichuan province, were worried that that Ke Lin and her partner Yongyong did not seem to be in the mood to mate.

So they came up with the solution of playing the pair a video of pandas mating in an effort to encourage them to do the same.

"Every time Yongyong tried to mount her, Ke Lin fought him off and we were worried she was going to miss her three-day breeding cycle," said a spokesman.

"So we played them the film and she took great interest in it. After that there was no stopping her and they mated successfully.

"In the wild, Ke Lin would have seen lots of other pandas mating but in captivity, it's no wonder she needed help."
