Chris Huhne resigns from Liberal Democrats
Former cabinet minister Chris Huhne has resigned from the Liberal Democrats and his partner Carina Trimingham is also believed to have quit her party membership.
ITV News understands that Mr Huhne quit the party when he resigned as the MP for Eastleigh.
His ex-wife Vicky Pryce, who was found guilty of perverting the course of justice for taking his speeding points, is believed to still be a member of the Liberal Democrats.
