Fatboy Slim has become the first major DJ to play at the House of Commons as part of a charity fundraising event.

Whilst it was not the biggest gig of his life - a quarter of a million people turned up for his party on Brighton beach in 2002 - the audience may well be the most distinguished.

Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, said: "I've played some exciting and unique places around the world, from Bondi Beach to the Great Wall of China to an igloo, but playing in the House of Commons might be the most unique to date."

He will be joined by up-and-coming DJ Mr Fury who beat some 200 competitors to secure the opportunity in finals at the appropriately-named Ministry of Sound nightclub in London.

The event is in aid of the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation.
