Network Rail's car park work leaves driver in the lurch
A Mercedes driver will probably regret the moment they parked in the middle of a cordoned off area at Edinburgh Waverley station.
Workers had blocked off an area of the car park on Thursday so they could carry out resurfacing work on Friday.
But they were in for a surprise when they were greeted by a vehicle sitting in the middle of the designated work area.
Undeterred they carried on with the work as planned and built a little ramp in front of the car to allow the owner to drive out without damaging the Mercedes.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "The motorist moved the barriers and parked in the worksite, but we've left a ramp for them to exit and will be happy to return their vehicle once they contact us."
