UK has fastest rate of youth unemployment among G8
The UK has had a faster rate of youth unemployment than any country in the G8, since the start of the recession, a report has said.
According to a study by the Work Foundation, the UK is now only behind Spain and Greece for jobless youth, and it cannot be blamed solely on the economic downturn.
Youth unemployment for those aged 15 to 24 increased by 35% between 2008 and 2011 to over 900,000, the average for other G8 companies was a 15% rise.
