Environment Agency: 'Don't attempt to drive through floods'

The head of the Environment Agency's incident management team has advised people to keep checking the weather forecasts and be prepared for flooding, as heavy wind and rain continued throughout the UK. John Curtin said:

We also ask that people stay safe, by staying away from swollen rivers and not attempting to drive through floodwater.

Environment Agency teams have been mobilised across the country to check on flood defences, clear river blockages and monitor river levels.
