Free Syrian Army forced to 'strategically retreat' in Aleppo

The Syrian army has launched a fresh assault on the city of rebel stronghold Aleppo. The city, home to more than two million people, has witnessed fierce fighting in the Salaheddine district.

Tanks pounded alleyways were rebels sought cover. State television said Assad's forces were "cleansing the terrorist filth" from the country. The Free Syrian Army say they were forced to "strategically retreat" until the shelling ends.
