President Barack Obama has signed a secret "intelligence finding" authorising covert aid to Syrian rebels seeking to depose President Bashar Assad and his government, NBC News has reported.
According to Reuters, President Obama's order, approved earlier this year, broadly permits the CIA and other US agencies to provide support that could help rebels oust President Assad.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
