Huhne loses legal attempt to dismiss charges

Chris Huhne was in court today ahead of his trial on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

His application to have the charges against him dismissed, was adjourned until September 20th.

The former Energy Secretary and Lib Dem MP for Eastleigh left the Cabinet to fight accusations that he had persuaded his now estranged wife to take his penalty points for speeding.
